For the first time, the Houston Astros will offer tailgating.

The Astros made the decision to offer a tailgating option after getting feedback from longtime fans.

For the Saturday Astros-Reds game beginning at 3 p.m., tailgating will be allowed in Lot C for fans with a valid pass for that lot. Fans will be allowed to bring grills, tents, chairs, food and beverages to the lot. Tailgating and alcoholic beverages will be allowed in Lot C only.
The game will start at 6:15 p.m.
On Friday, the Astros will host a special Kick-Off To Summer Party prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against Cincinnati. This event is to celebrate the end of the school year, and will be catered to teens and young adults with music, video games and an appearance by Astros players. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Plaza on Crawford St. outside of Minute Maid Park.

This is allowed now mainly b/c of the Dynamo, it wasn't just an Astros decision. Tailgating wasn't allowed in the business area of downtown but a resolution was passed this year changing that in order to continue to allow the Dynamo to tailgate like they did at Robertson Stadium. This also allowed the Rockets and Stros to allow their fans to tailgate but initially they both declined.
