It's the part where they found out how long the decapitated Engineer died. 2000 years ago

Wait the guy who was here on Earth sacrificed himself that was the opening scene, unless I am missing something again.

That could have been anywhere, not necessarily Earth. It was just showing that they are able to sacrifice themselves to create life.

Yeah you can assume it is Earth, but according to Ridley Scott.. it doesn't matter if it was or not.

It really wasn't that bad of a movie. A great movie? By all means no. With all the questions brought up with no answers, it sucks for the general viewers. The director's cut will hopefully fix this as it did with Kingdom of Heaven theatrical cut.

Finally saw it last night..good movie but couldve used either more action or more answers...for somebody just watching it to watch it,it left alot of questions and huh, wtf? moments....

I understood most of it since ive seen the other movies and read up on the mythos of Alien..but i can see how anybody else not into would be super confused.

you almost have to 1) watch alien 2)read up on alien story line before you watch this movie. saw it a couple of nights ago. even though they are saying its not a prequel to Alien it almost seems like it is. i liked it. i hope they make this into a franchise. also, the music in this trailer is the same music as in the original alien trailer.

It's not really a prequel, but it is set in the same universe and with the same Company that is trying to obtain Alien lifeforms or technology. The Space Jockey is the same one from Alien but it's a different story. The next movie is supposedly going to explore more of the back story.
