you don't understand. the ability to operate an isp requires YEARS of general experience, and specific experience. you can't go out and shell out 10 grand (which won't buy you enough equipment to get started) and expect it to work.

not to mention when you get on that end of the "internet" you're dealing bulk. i couldn't even guess the amount of money it costs each month just to get a decent connection that supports 1,000 people.

it's like trying to explain the internet to my 5 year old. there's a certain level of experience you need to even begin to understand what you're trying to do. you do not have it. and if you did, you wouldn't be asking this question.

try figuring out how to create your own cell phone service so you don't have to pay anyone, or electricity (which is quite easy).

that's just a monthly cost (which is really high though) not to mention the hardware needed to support the kind of connection to connect to the backbone, the hardware to get it to your computer. the knowledge needed to set it up. the money spent to get the lines put in..

1. have lots of money

2. buy lots of expensive hardware to support your new connection

3. hire people to work that hardware you have no idea how to work

4. LEASE YOUR INTERNET SERVICE FROM ANOTHER ISP.

5. pay people to drop the line from YOUR ISP to your building

6. buy more hardware to get that connection to your computer

you're assuming the internet is in one place, leased from one company, that everyone subscribes to. it doesn't work that way. they CALL IT A WEB FOR A REASON.
