TW: Automotive photography workshop

Wondering if there would be any interest for this, thinking about a Saturday in April when things slow down for me a bit. Fee would be $100. Included in the workshop would be:

- File organization (dealing with Lightroom, Bridge, metadata, exporting)
- Rig shots (materials, how-to, photoshop removal, etc)
- Lighting (what lights to use, wireless triggers, placement, diffusers)
- Step by step Photoshop tutorials on color correction, composite images (fake skys), masking, and non-destructive layer adjustments.
- Light painting how-to (materials, editing, etc)

Free food will be provided of course. Just trying to see if anyone at all would be interested in something like this as I've been asked several times to bring folks w/me to car shoots I do. We'll have a couple cars there to experiment on to get an idea of how lighting reacts w/different colors as well.

Thoughts?

Would the lighting discussion be limited to only speedlights?

primarily yes, very few people (myself included) use outlet powered strobes for car shoots, although they do work better.

That would be my primary interest as I've burned out a few speedlights and have given up on using them.

Good idea. Though this would probably be an 8-10 hour session lol. I'd go just for the food.

ouch, the skills learned with speedlights can easily be transferred over to normal strobes though so it should be fine

wrd, white cars are tough to light bc they get blown out easy so it'll make for some good learning material

Very interested, though I'm not sure if I can make it. I can barely plan 2 weeks ahead, let alone 4 months, lol.

What's the deal, this still on? I'd be down for a Feb date. April feels like ages away.

Count me in for Feb, I'm assuming Sat or Sun. It would be nice if you listed some lighting equipment. I'm in the market for some, mostly continuous for film but I'd be open to getting some flash if I knew what you will use in the class.

I wanted some 1000k soft boxes for some video projects but I can wait on the purchase, if you think other lighting options are more useful.
