Canon T2i UV lens filter?

Which lens filter would you recommend for the T2i? My T2i is coming in tomorrow and I would like to buy a lens filter for it...

Yea, basically lens protection. The Tiffen 58mm is popular on Amazon, but I want something better.

I personally wouldn't buy one for a cheap kit lens but if you want a good one, you can pick up this:

Are Hoya's any good? They're a little cheaper than B&W and get rated up there.

what lens? the 18-55?

if so just save your money...

B+W are good filters. a bit on the high end expensive side.
hoya filters are good too. as long as they are the coated ones like the HMC and super HMC
tiffen is usually pretty bad.

get a cheap filter and youll see flaring and ghosting everywhere. and it can degrade pic quality and sharpness

Lens filter sizes entirely depend on the lens, not your camera body.
