I admittedly know very little about Porsches but does this car really cost considerably more than a 911 turbo?

yes.....gt3's are more expensive to begin with...this is kind of a track special, notice center lock wheels

edit: nvr mind they have the same msrp

I just did basic google searches but it looked to me like the turbo was around $135K and the GT3 RS was around $170K - but RS has no back seat, sound deadening, AC or stereo (says AC and stereo were no cost options, though) and that a full roll cage was a no cost option that was never offered in the US because of the additional DOT restrictions that it would entail.

I just thought the turbo would cost more or at least the same.

Porsche USA says $141K for the turbo with PDK trans.
