My closed thread

My thread was closed, by Forum Moderator speeddemon. I'd simply like an explanation as to why it was closed.

Here's a link to the thread.

http://houston-imports.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=619530

From what I can tell, he took my post offensively/incorrectly. What I posted, was just what I've been told by fellow friends (who happen to be members of this great forum) that, Mr. speeddemon will not hesitate at all to full fill his responsibility's as a Forum Moderator, and will enforce Forum rules.

Never did I disrespect him or houston-imports. And also, I never mentioned anything about me not liking the forum rules, or the way he moderates. If, he for some reason feels disrespected, than I'd like to give my sincerest apology, but I'd also like one in return. So please can the thread be unlocked.

Thanks H-I, I'm really looking forward to continuing to be a member here.

If this was towards me, I personally don't like the idea of "texting" him about this. As I'm sure it would've gotten out of hand, also I know I, and I'm sure he would not be ok with getting texts from random members.

Moderators are here to enforce certain rules of this forum. In this case, the frequent "bumping" of for sale threads create cluster in the for sale sections. We try to lessen the traffic of that section by limiting excessive bumping by our members.

With that being said, your claims of not disrespecting him is quickly contradicted in your first response to his comment.

Thank you very much. But, could you please explain to me how I disrespected him with that post? I understand that it's best to drop this, as it has somewhat been resolved. But I wouldn't mind an explanation.

Regardless of our disagreement, thanks once again for the unlock.

Plain and simple, it was a mockery and an asinine remark towards his duties as a moderator which could have been clearly resolved if you would have simply asked him to explain which rule was violated.

LoL... 2010er's

Just post something and bump it in the morning and at night. When someone wants to purchase they will contact you, and trust me there will be plenty of people looking, whether your thread is at the top or bottom of section. Next time just hit up the mod in PM, I have had a couple 'For Sale' threads locked before, but I just asked what is was for, and he resolved it for me. Mod mainly wants to make sure you understand what you did so you remember for future reference, nothing personal.

Exactly.. some people cant understand its hardly ever personal (especially posting in a FORSALE foum lol). I give a lot of my own time to do what i do here... i dont own this site but i treat it and care for it as if i do. We all have busy lives and for me to come and deal with some drama on here would take up even more of my time so i try to cut it short and avoid any of that. I call the shots as best as i can and based on what ive seen happen in the past. In your particular case i just think its the thread creator's responsibility to manage his own thread, whether its bumping it to the top, or posting that their item has been sold so i can lock it. But one thing that aggravates me is when people think their thread needs to be bumped even when its still on the first page. Obviously everyones thread cant be at the top. So, like ninja said i try to control that kind of 'traffic' which can be annoying to people who view the threads. I mean a perfect example is Craigslist... you cant 'bump' ads on craigslist so people repost on there to be on top... so its very frustrating when youre looking for something and someone is reposting something every 30 minutes so its just a ton of reposts of the same thing by the same seller. Anyhow, no hard feelings. Thanks for understanding and having an understanding attitude.

BTW thanks for throwing my phone threads together...lol. I kinda hoped that would happen.

And Craigslist is freaking annoying as fuck! I wish it ran as smooth as this board.
