I'm always more inclined to sequels when most of the original cast is in it. Then comes in the superstar actor cameo and kills it for me. Prolly just torrent it.

Looks like he danced himself out of the cut, I am thinking they are going for a less comical approach this time. The one thing I don't like about movies these days is the lack of the physically menacing bad guys, if you are going to cast the ROCK on one end then you need a man of equal size on the other like Michael Jai White or something. Thats what I miss about my 80's and 90s movies, a good menacing bad guy that makes you say "he's here shit is about to get real", alas all we get now are pretty boys trying to be tough, Expendables 2 when are you coming?

Not sure if anyone cares but the movie got pushed back all the way to March of 2013 so they could make the movie 3D. A whole freaking 9 months lol? C'mon now.

Article made a good point though that if they would have kept the original release date it would have came out a week after the new Spider-Man movie and would have possibly done poorly in sales.

Paramount got scared after Battleship's debut IMO. Either way that's a lot of promotional money wasted just to not release it on time.

Reasoning behind the delay. *SPOILER BELOW*

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/...liation-delays

Quote:
Last week Paramount announced that G.I. Joe Retaliation was moving to 2013 so that the film could be converted into 3D. But according to rumours circulating today, that conversion wasn’t the only reason for the delay.

BEWARE OF SPOILERS (which nevertheless might not end up in the film) AHEAD…

According to Deadline, the film was scoring badly in test screenings, mainly due to Channing Tatum’s demise early on in proceedings.

“Channing Tatum had a breakout spring, starring in The Vow and 21 Jump Street”, one Paramount insider told Deadline. “In our first screening of the film reaction from audiences was good, but with two big concerns: 1) They didn’t like the fact that Channing and The Rock really didn’t have any time to develop a friendship before Channing died, and 2) Why wasn’t it going to be in 3D?

“We went back and shot another week with Channing to develop more of his story with The Rock, which made the film play much better. But we didn’t have the time to be in 3D.”

So it seems that G.I. Joe will not only feature an additional dimension, but also more Channing Tatum. Is this a good thing? Let us know in the comments below.

Bump from the grave. Saw the movie and it was meh. Some cheesy parts here and there which was expected and some ok action. I'd suggest this as a matinee movie or redbox rental.

And gawdamn RZA was in this movie. He had a small part but his acting is so fkn terrible and ridiculous. I wish people wouldn't put him in their movies.
