what is the formula to calculate how many calories i need to intake in a day? i would like to loose about 30-40 lbs. i lift moderately to heavy depending on how i feel and i play a lot of basketball and run/walk with the gf. just need to find a starting point on the eating right. i already eat 3 small meals with 3 snacks in between. i started off at about 275 and am now down to about 230-235 (fluctuating). i would like to get down to 200-190 and i guess i need to start counting calories and such to get where i want to be as i seem to have plateaued. any help would be great, thanks!
edit: my problem area is my gut. my legs are pretty defined with decent sized calves and what not. i have defined bi\'s/tri\'s and delts are pretty decent as well. It seems as though all my fat stores are primarily in my stomach lol :-\\ |

Took it pretty light this past month at the gym. Only lifted on days that i went with no cardio. Gained 4-5 lbs. Starting tomorrow i am going "strict" on my diet and and 2 a day workouts. Mornings will be weight/strenght training, and ill go for a run every night. Planning on working up to a 5 mile 40 minute by september or sooner.
